another tumblr recommendation

y’all are reading a space for black rage, right?

i love the riskiness of the “black life in traces” series, which—as do all images that claim to make something about blackness visible—flirts with reification in order to represent something non-reified about that spookily freighted term, black life.  it’s dwelling on somethings about black life that exists, or remains, in the (near) absence of black bodies, in images that make use of the difference between black life and black bodies in order to trace something that while undoubtedly haunting, cannot so simply be said to be without life.

i’m really enjoying and really appreciating this project, and hope you will too.
