lol: you’d think these three things are all FORMS OF OPPRESSION and EQUIVALENT. it’s all quite telling about new york times style liberalism: freedom from racism means, of course, freedom from having to have an institutionalized response to histories of racist discrimination. because! affirmative action is just like racism! note that this says nothing about the legacies of racism that persist in the form of socioeconomic inequality. racism is, of course, about being mean and judgy! not about the systematic robbing of the livelihood of entire populations!
can someone point me to a moment in the long history of this country to prove that the existence of multiracial people causes the structural effects of racism to substantially recede? and when we inevitably fail to shore up much in the way of proving such a fact, can we please disabuse ourselves of the heteronormative fantasy that we are simply going to fuck, marry, or adopt our way out of racism?
